Deep Dive Tokyo - Future Beats, Tech Talks, Pho was a regular event series in Tokyo, Japan hosted by LP-RESEARCH Inc. and AVGVST International. The central theme of Deep Dive is the fusion of electronic music and technology presentations / workshops. We created Deep Dive in order to extend our technological perspective beyond the walls of our office, to find a community to discuss ideas, developments and controversies in various areas from information technology to the arts.
Deep Dive is intended to be a small, intimate event, with specific focus on wrapping complex topics in a friendly atmosphere with great music. Our usual event location is a small Vietnamese restaurant in Nishiazabu, Tokyo, the Pho Dragon. While lounging to future beats and listening to the presentations, sweet & sour mama Suzy serves the best Pho in town. This creates a special atmosphere for special people. So be there when it’s time for The Deep Dive, The Deep Dive!
Deep Dive Tokyo Premiere
Friday, October 4th, 2019
It looked like it was going to rain. But it didn’t. In the early evening the streets of Nishiazabu looked like a reminder of the glory of past days. This used to be one of the epicenters of Tokyo nightlife, with famous club Yellow in the neighborhood hosting top DJs every weekend and a variety of smaller clubs and bars sprawling around it.
After Japan’s economic bubble burst, active nightlife gradually retreated to the centers of Roppongi and Shibuya, leaving Nishiazabu a place for deserted residential buildings, lonely restaurants and bars desperately looking back to better days. In the evenings, today’s Nishiazabu has a cyberpunkish feel, a part of Neo Tokyo, the forgotten Chiba sprawl, Neuromancer.. hear the 80’s calling?
We figured this makes it the ideal place for our Deep Dive Tokyo sessions.
The premier event took place on October 4th, 2019, at the Pho Dragon. The Pho Dragon is a Vietnamese restaurant at the center of Nishiazabu. It is a very intimate location, always filled with the scent of the best Pho noodle soup in town.

Deep Dive Tokyo - Episode 2

After a long break we’re ready to continue our Tokyo Deep Dive lounge event series. Join us on Saturday, May 21st at Nishiazabu Pho Dragon. With the speaking topics for this event we will touch the areas of biomedical longevity and rejuvenation engineering, non-fungible tokens and augmented reality. Music will be presented by yours truly DJ Hakase and DJ MU.
As usual this event takes place at the Pho Dragon. The Pho Dragon is a Vietnamese restaurant at the center of Nishiazabu. It is a very intimate location, always filled with the scent of the best Pho noodle soup in town. See the location on Google Maps.
